Calculating Payouts
Single Bet Calculation
Total Return = Stake × Decimal Odds
Profit = Total Return - Stake
Example: R100 at odds of 2.75
Total Return = R100 × 2.75 = R275
Profit = R275 - R100 = R175
Accumulator Calculation
Combined Odds = Odds₁ × Odds₂ × Odds₃...
Total Return = Stake × Combined Odds
Example: R50 on three selections at 1.50, 2.00, 1.80
Combined Odds = 1.50 × 2.00 × 1.80 = 5.40
Total Return = R50 × 5.40 = R270
Finding Value in Odds
Value betting is about finding odds that are higher than they should be. Here's how:
- 1
Estimate the true probability
Use team news and form to estimate the chance of an outcome. E.g., you think Team A has a 60% chance to win.
- 2
Calculate implied probability from odds
Use: (1 ÷ decimal odds) × 100. Odds of 1.80 = 55.6% implied probability.
- 3
Compare and find value
If your estimate (60%) is higher than the implied probability (55.6%), you have value!
